Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024 – it’s back for the festive season and new year! Here’s all the party food available down free from aisles and beyond this Christmas across all UK supermarkets. And they’re on shelves right now, Coeliac-friendly, wheat-free with dairy-free options too.
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024 – strap yourselves in because I’ve thrown together all the party food from eleven different supermarkets in this one post! Here’s everything I’ve found across Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Marks and Spencer, Aldi, Lidl and more. Don’t forget to save this post and keep checking back for updates – see the individual supermarket posts linked at the bottom of this one for a range of everything available, including desserts, free from products etc.

Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024
Since this is a guide that shows specific party food products across a range of different supermarkets, that’s exactly how I’ve decided to divide them up.
Using the contents list below, you can jump to particular supermarkets if you’re looking for somewhere specific, or feel free to just scroll down to see everything:
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Tesco
Though Tesco has a few awesome options (the bhajis, vegan no-prawn tempura, jalapeno cheese poppers and snowballs), as I said last year, it’s hard not to feel like we’ve had more gluten-free party food options here in previous years.
This may look like a lot of pigs in blankets (put them on cocktail sticks to make them ‘party food’ btw!) and crisps for one supermarket… because it is! But it was my choice to include all the different variations of pigs in blankets I could find. Why? So you know exactly which ones are safe! You obviously don’t have to buy all the different variations – if you need multiple packs, you can just grab a few of whatever suitable ones you find.
Because Tesco didn’t suddenly have an explosion of dedicated gluten-free party food products closer to Christmas last year, I’m guessing it’ll be the same again in 2024. So make sure you check the other supermarkets below for more varied options than just pigs in blankets with other stuff thrown in!!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Asda
There’s even less over at Asda (compared to Tesco) right now and just like last year, most of what’s actually here seems to be in the free from freezer section. The crisps are with the crisps, of course!
Last year, this left me speculating that the fresh party food was still to come (especially since they will have use-by dates well before Christmas) but that never happened!! If there’s no change again this year, this means that’ll it’ll likely be over to Waitrose and M&S yet again for viable gluten-free party food options.
C’mon Asda, you can do better!!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Sainsbury’s
Currently, the situation at Sainsbury’s is much the same as over at Tesco. A lot of crisps, pigs in blankets and a few items worth noting, but probably not enough to make an entire gluten-free party food spread!!
But note the white rabbit flatbread too which can easily be quickly sliced up and served to a crowd – the same goes for Sainsbury’s free from mini quiche too (albeit to a much smaller crowd!)
Oh and don’t forget the mozzarella sticks too – they used to be available everywhere, but that’s not been the case in recent years! The arancini is probably one of the most exciting finds so far too!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Marks and Spencer
Phew! Though M&S doesn’t have tons of festive party food options like I remember posting across previous years, their free from products fill in a lot of gaps here. Best of all, so we don’t have to rely purely on faith that their gluten-free party food products will definitely return for 2024, there are already some gluten-free party food products available on shelves right now!
Make sure you take note of the gluten-free party food products (stocked in chillers with all the rest of the party food – not in any special free from section) because that’s where M&S really sets themselves apart from Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.
So M&S is definitely a win unless other supermarkets come out with more suitable products closer to Christmas – which I’ll add here if I do ever find them!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Aldi
Don’t expect to find much in Aldi (or Lidl) in terms of gluten-free party food – you’ll most definitely have to shop elsewhere to put on a party food spread of your dreams.
But if you’re popping in, you might want to pick up one of the below as they’ll no doubt be more affordable than other supermarkets. Apart from the satay chicken skewers (also available in Lidl) there’s isn’t all that much to write home about!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Lidl
Lidl is a tad better than Aldi when it comes to gluten-free party food but again, you’re not going to be able to create a proper gluten-free party food spread just using the below products.
However, it’s still a little more than Aldi in terms of actual viable party food options, rather than mostly just big bags of crisps!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Morrisons
Whilst Morrisons hasn’t got the biggest selection of gluten-free party food to say the least, just like last year, they do have pretty much everything you’d need to impress me!
The combination of all of these products alone would make an amazing gluten-free party food spread, with great variety and choice, but the Asian-style selection box has to be noted especially.
We used to have so many more products like this in previous years (from Co-Op especially) and Morrison’s is the only place that still stocks a product like this. So if you can get to Morrisons, make sure you hunt that one down. Since there’s actual variety in that box, I would happily have a few boxes of that and wouldn’t really ask for a lot else!
Morrisons had quite a bit more than this last year (though nothing too groundbreaking) so expect some more updates from me here soon.
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Waitrose
Waitrose usually has a brilliant selection of gluten-free party food, but nothing special has popped up in my local store yet. So watch this space!
Last year, they actually stocked more ‘normal people’ party food options that were also ‘accidentally’ gluten-free than even M&S, so definitely start holding your breath for them to pop again this year!
Until then, it’s just a few bits and pieces that otherwise wouldn’t get your hopes up.
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Iceland
As I said last year about the party food I found in Iceland… I hope you like cheese!
This selection is actually great, but because almost every product revolves around cheese, you’ll most definitely have to shop around to ensure your gluten-free party food spread has better variety. The hash brown dogs will help with that though and the chip shop curry sauce pots would make a great dip!
But to have all of these suitable products in Iceland is something I would have never expected, so please make the most of it! Oh and don’t forget to check out their crisps too!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: Ocado
Since I decided to create a dedicated post on Ocado’s gluten-free Christmas options for the first time ever this year, it made sense to include their party food offerings in this post too!
Bear in mind that they also stock M&S products too, so you certainly won’t be short of choices when placing an online order for gluten-free party food.
Of course, buying these products from Ocado means placing an online order – that involves booking a slot and meeting the £40 minimum delivery charge. So make sure you check out my Ocado post (just linked it above) for other gluten-free products that you might need to help get you to that £40 minimum!
Gluten-free Christmas party food guide 2024: The Co-op
I absolutely had to include the Co-op in this guide, despite only being able to find one suitable gluten-free party food product so far. And definitely don’t hold your breath that I’ll find much else!
But I absolutely had to include the Co-op in this guide; firstly because the one product I found was pretty awesome and I haven’t seen it anywhere else and secondly, just to highlight how little there is for us here!
And that’s not to be mean to Co-op (where I worked for many years!), it’s because Co-op used to stock a bunch of actually amazing gluten-free Christmas party food products up until recently. See this four year old post to remind you or if you have no idea what I mean!
So this is just a long way of explaining that and also saying: grab this product if you’re passing buy and it’s in stock, but don’t get your hopes up for anything else!
Last Year’s Products
And last but not least, here’s all of LAST YEAR’s gluten-free party food products in supermarkets from 2023.
They may be back this year… they may not! So either way, I thought I’d leave the link to last year’s post above just in case they do make a return.
