It’s very nearly Summer Time… which means it’s BBQ time! So here is what Marks and Spencer are offering in terms of gluten free BBQ food this year… YUMMY!
I love BBQ season. I sometimes wish I lived somewhere where bbq season was all year round. Although I do know of folks who even cook their Christmas Turkey on the bbq in the UK in December! For me, the smokey taste of food grilled on the bbq just can’t be matched by anything else. Although in saying that, probably my favourite thing about having a bbq is inviting friends & family round and enjoying their company; so food comes second for me at a bbq.
Nevertheless to feel part of a bbq we all need some gluten free bbq food we can eat, otherwise it just isn’t the same. In the years that I have been gluten free I have noticed so many burgers & sausages that are filled with gluten that it just makes me want to weep. No I do not just want a corn on the cob & a piece of chicken, I want a gluten free hot dog, I want a gluten free burger!
The M&S gluten free bbq range has opened the barriers almost to the max for coeliacs and gluten intolerants alike, no longer is there only a few choices at the bbq, now their are loads. Here are a few bits that are on offer this year!

Lots of Crisps at M&S also come with a gluten free symbol!!
Of Course….
Marks & Spencer also make sure all of their sausages are all gluten free too. So check the meat section for gluten free sausages too! Same goes for their burgers, basically all of the standard burgers I have found in M&S are gluten free burgers! What’s great about M&S is that for the most part they have a gluten free symbol on products that are gluten free, which makes them easily identifiable. BUT… there is no harm in checking products that don’t have the gluten free symbol too… I’ve been pleasantly surprised finding some tasty ‘secret’ gluten free products by doing this!
Of course the one thing that Marks & Spencer still need to get right is their bbq bread rolls and buns for burgers and hot dogs. Gluten free burger buns and hot dog rolls that are top quality are hard to come by really. However my absolute favourite gluten free burger buns are now available in Waitrose! They are from the brand Just Bakery & they now do amazing gluten free & dairy free brioche in Waitrose & it is seriously amazing. Possibly better than regular gluten filled bread!
Anyway, I thought I would just share a few tasty treats you can gather for you bbq this summer. It’s so nice that M&S offer so much gluten free choice. Coeliacs, gluten intolerants.. you don’t need to bring separate food – M&S have got your back! Have you had the chance to try any of the M&S gluten free bbq range? What do you think? Also what other supermarkets offer great bbq products in your opinion? Oh & do you have any bbq recipes that are gluten free & you’d like to share?
