Gluten-free Easter Eggs guide 2022 – including lots of Easter eggs in supermarkets you didn’t know were gluten-free! All Coeliac-friendly and wheat-free too.
Gluten-free Easter eggs guide 2022? Yes, they’re on supermarket shelves already in the seasonal aisle AND down the free from aisle. And… I’ve found ALL of them for you across Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Aldi, M&S, Waitrose, Morrisons, Co-op, Iceland and Ocado!
But wait… aren’t most Easter eggs gluten-free anyway?
You might think so initially, but any form of chocolate-based product can be a minefield when you’re gluten-free.
For starters, with Easter eggs specifically, whilst the actually egg may be gluten-free, they might come with some added extras which aren’t.
Plus, some Easter eggs have a ‘may contain’ warning for gluten which makes them unsuitable for Coeliacs and certainly not gluten-free. So here’s a collection of all the eggs I’ve found that are gluten-free and safe for us to enjoy!
IMPORTANT NOTE
I’m very specific in this post when I reference which eggs are gluten-free and safe to eat. So please don’t assume that, just because you’ve seen one egg from a particular brand in this post, that every egg by the same brand is also gluten-free.
Three examples:
- There’s a small Milkybar Easter egg in this post that’s gluten-free. However, other Milkybar eggs in other sizes are NOT gluten-free.
- There’s a Cadbury’s Caramel Egg in this post that’s gluten-free. BUT other Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Caramel eggs (which come with a bar and have the extra text ‘Dairy Milk’ on the front) are NOT gluten-free.
- There’s an Aero Peppermint Egg in this post that’s gluten-free. But there are other Aero Easter egg variations which are NOT gluten-free.
What I’m trying to say is this: please ensure you’ve got the right egg which is shown in the photo of this post (I’ve also referenced the size of the eggs where necessary: S, M, L, XL etc.) and most importantly always read the ingredients labels thoroughly for yourself. Ensure that not only does it not contain gluten, but ensure it also doesn’t have a ‘may contain’ warning for gluten, wheat etc.
The ULTIMATE gluten-free Easter eggs guide 2022
Since this is a MEGA gluten-free Easter eggs guide, I thought I’d split this post up by supermarket. Of course, the same eggs are stocked in multiple supermarkets so don’t be surprised if you see the same ones pop up in one or more supermarkets.
Generally, most of these eggs are found in the seasonal aisle of supermarkets, but you will often find the gluten-free and dairy-free eggs down the free from aisle.

Tescos gluten-free Easter Eggs
Let’s start with Tesco first of all!
As I mentioned, most of these are down the seasonal Easter aisle so it can be a literal Easter egg hunt to find the right ones. So make sure you allow yourself enough time to make sure you’ve got the ones pictured which are safe for us to eat.
After the big photo of the Cadbury Flake Easter egg, all of the rest will be found down the free from aisle and are generally dairy-free or vegan.
Sainsburys gluten-free Easter Eggs
And now let’s head over to Sainsbury’s to see which gluten-free Easter eggs await.
There isn’t as much on offer for us as there is in Tesco, but you will spot a few eggs here that you won’t find outside of Sainsburys so it’s definitely worth a look.
After the fried egg slabs, all of the rest will be found down the free from aisle and are generally dairy-free or vegan.
Asda’s gluten-free Easter Eggs
Our Easter egg hunt continues over at Asda!
After the ‘Extra Special’ eggs, all of the rest will be found down the free from aisle and are generally dairy-free or vegan.
Aldi’s gluten-free Easter Eggs
Though Aldi actually stocks a decent range of its own brand Easter eggs, none of the non-dairy-free eggs are gluten-free at all.
Unfortunately, every single one has a ‘may contain’ warning for gluten etc.
So, you’ll quickly notice that every single egg listed here is dairy-free and in their free from range. Fortunately, this makes Aldi a great place for gluten-free and dairy-free Easter eggs for those who need them!
M&S gluten-free Easter Eggs
As usual, M&S remains the place where you’ll find the most unique Easter eggs that can’t be found anywhere else!
And fortunately, lots of them are safe for us to enjoy – even including a few Percy Pig eggs too.
But of course, I wasn’t able to find any gluten-free and dairy-free Easter eggs, so you’ll have to browse the other supermarkets in this post if that’s what you’re after.
Waitrose gluten-free Easter Eggs
In Waitrose, you’ll find a few exclusive own-brand eggs that more than make it worth the trip over.
And of course, there’s lots of our classic favourite Eggs which are safe for us to enjoy too.
The gluten-free AND dairy-free Easter eggs are situated after the white squiggle easter egg in this section.
Morrisons gluten-free Easter Eggs
As expected, Morrisons stocks a lot of those classic favourites that just-so-happen to be gluten-free and safe for us to eat.
After the egg on toast slab, the remaining three eggs can be found down the free from aisle as they’re both gluten-free AND dairy-free.
You’ll find the rest down the seasonal aisle with all the other Easter eggs.
Co-op gluten-free Easter Eggs
If you’ve got a Co-op near you then definitely don’t discount it on your hunt for gluten-free Easter eggs.
Only the very last egg can be found down the free from aisle, so you’ll have to head to the seasonal Easter aisle for the rest.
Iceland gluten-free Easter Eggs
You might not be surprised to hear that there isn’t a vast range of gluten-free Easter eggs in Iceland!
However there’s certainly enough to choose from when you’re in store and you won’t struggle to find one that takes your fancy.
If you’re gluten-free AND dairy-free, you’ll sadly need to continue your searches elsewhere!
Ocado gluten-free Easter Eggs
And last but not least is the online supermarket, Ocado.
There’s actually a lot to choose from, including some more exotic options like the Booja-Booja eggs. I’ll let you discover the price of those for yourself though… just make sure you’re sitting down first!
After Clucky the Hen, the remaining eggs are both gluten-free AND dairy-free.

Of course, don’t forget there’s lots of other mini eggs and sweet treats that are gluten-free – such as Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs, Mini Creme Eggs etc. However, I wanted this post to stick to the big ol’ eggs and as there was so many of them across supermarkets, I didn’t want to make this guide anymore enormous than it already is.
