Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023
Since this is a MEGA guide to Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023 I thought I’d split this post up into four sections (as well as previous year’s products) as you’ll see below.

Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023: Free From Aisle
Yep, these are the products you’ll find down the good ol’ free from aisle this Christmas. Though it might not be as much as you’ll find in Tesco, Asda or Sainsbury’s, I feel like Waitrose really hit the nail on the head here in terms of the essentials.
Whereas, in my M&S post (linked at the bottom of this one) we were still missing quite a few festive essentials that might mean you have to also shop elsewhere – Christmas cake for example.
But that’s not the case here in Waitrose as we’ve got everything from gluten-free Christmas cake to mince pies, panettone, Christmas pudding, savoury crackers and even a few new festive tarts to try. A lot of these are dairy-free too so make the most of that if you need to!
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023: Snacks, Party Food + Christmas lunch
I’m just going to say it before you even look – Waitrose is the best supermarket this year for gluten-free party food so far. Where most supermarkets haven’t even got anything stocked yet (and other supermarkets like Co-op seem to have abandoned their gluten-free party food range entirely), Waitrose has everything ready and waiting right now.
Though some of these are fresh products that’ll have a date that expires before Christmas, if you want to be super organised or don’t want to risk them disappearing before the 25th, you can freeze a lot of these products ahead of time.
They’ve got some great ready-made sides to go alongside your Christmas lunch too, so keep an eye out for those. Don’t forget to check the free from section in the freezer for a few of these goodies also…
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023: Seasonal Confectionery Aisle
And if you head over to the seasonal aisle, you’ll find LOTS of stuff that’s ‘accidentally’ gluten-free, including advent calendars, chocolate gifts and small sweet treats. Like most supermarkets, lots of the festive chocolate is gluten-free, but certainly not everything so ensure you check ingredients labels to ensure you have the correct product.
Waitrose has some of Mark’s favourite dairy-free options in the form of three NOMO products, all of which he was happy to find!
A lot of these products would make great gifts and the own-brand Waitrose products not only sound/look delicious, but obviously, you also won’t be able to pick these up anywhere else.
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023: Desserts
As with all the supermarkets so far, there isn’t a whole lot available yet in terms of desserts, but Waitrose still has more suitable options available compared to most.
All of these would make dessert on Christmas day super easy and they’d be very convenient for those of you who might need to bring your own dessert with you. You’ll find these desserts in the frozen aisle.
Take note of the dairy-free/vegan Elmlea brand cream also (which is in the chillers with the regular cream) which I haven’t seen anywhere else so far on my festive travels.
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2023: Previous Year’s Products
And last but not least, here’s all the products that were in Waitrose four years ago in 2019.
Apparently I haven’t done a Waitrose gluten-free Christmas products post in quite a few years, hence it being from 2019! But I thought I’d include it anyway as it can sometimes be fun to compare previous years to this year to see if things have improved or not.
The reason I haven’t done a festive Waitrose post in four years is that their range tended to be very similar from year to year and quite limited overall. However it looks like that’s all changed now, which is why I decided to head back there and make this brand new post for 2023!
