Welcome to My IBS Diary Week 6! Another thumbs up week, even if I don’t feel my best today! Make sure you subscribe to me (for free!) to be notified of more IBS & Gluten Free Videos every week!
I can’t believe I have taken Symprove for 6 whole weeks now!! I didn’t expect I would be able to do this… I thought I would keep forgetting! However, when you actually feel like something is helping you, you never forget! 6 weeks down and I am starting to feel overall a lot better. I think it is too easy to feel better & forget what it felt like at your worst; however, I never ever take days where I feel happy in the stomach for granted. With IBS, even if it is improving… you never know when an IBS attack might jump out and scare you!
I have had a very busy week this week, especially mentally! Some big life events have been coming about which of course brings with it plenty of ‘positive’ and negative stress. Stress is a massive trigger for my IBS and I am sure it is for a lot of you too. Just think, when you were last really worried about something or hyped up, did your stomach play nicely?! Mine never does! BUT this week I have made sure that when any stress comes around, I know exactly how to combat it. I try to do things that take my mind off whatever it is that is stressing me out. This week Mark & I did this in the best way possible… having a lovely sunny day out… & ending up in a children’s play park! I mean if going on the swings isn’t relaxing, I don’t know what is!
So, week 6 (officially half way through taking Symprove) has been a really enjoyable week. My stomach hasn’t got in the way of all the bits & bobs I needed to sort out. & when I felt IBS brewing I just made sure I did something to take my mind off it… oh & have a peppermint tablet!
Towards the end of next week I am going down south for a few days to see my parents, as it’s my Dad’s birthday! A change of scenery from the norm always seems to affect my IBS more than it should; I’m hoping with a positive mind, some relaxation & my Symprove, I will feel absolutely fine! I guess you will find out next time!
Please feel free to let me know how your IBS is treating you this week. How do YOU combat your IBS? Does it get worse when your away from your usual routine? Any advice would be much appreciated!
