Combining my love of puns, badgers and baked goods into one satisfying package, When It’s Scone, It’s Gone’s Gluten Free Sponge Pudding was one of my most rewarding purchases of The Allergy Show.
After sampling a hefty spoonful at their bustling stand, the word ‘no’ quickly vanished from my vocabulary as I proceeded to offer my first born child in exchange for such a tantalising Gluten Free Sponge Pudding. I was informed that £3 should suffice.
After later completing my daily repetition of the phrase “I can’t believe it’s so dark outside already” whilst still mourning the loss of British Summer Time, my evening commenced by warming my Gluten Free Sponge Pudding in the microwave for just under a minute.
This left it proudly steaming away and primed for a generous helping of soy custard – did I mention it’s dairy free as well as gluten free?
Unlike the disappointing store bought sponge puddings I’ve come to avoid, When It’s Scone, It’s Gone’s Gluten Free Sponge Pudding is a modest masterpiece that grants the humble British pudding a renewed justice. The sponge was light and delicate, with a sticky golden touch (of syrup) that even King Midas would envy. It was simply fresh, comfortingly homely and joyous to the last mouthful; the perfect accompaniment to any dark, cold night. Oh, and also all the packaging is biodegradable. Did I mention I still can’t believe how dark it is outside already?

Cheers,
