So, one of the last surviving products that we picked up Vitality was this tantalizing Banoffee Sponge Pudding from the innovative folks at Glamour Puds. Given that I love anything vaguely banoffee flavoured, you could say that this would be a very biased review… or possibly one that has a lot to live up to! Let’s find out…
Why not add some extra banana?
After a quick blast in the microwave (40 secs at 850w to be precise) my banoffee sponge pudding emerged gloriously steaming and ready for action. You’re instantly hit by a wave of banana in the light sponge which is wonderfully soft and moist after only a few short revolutions in the microwave. The toffee sauce is thick and treacle-like with the taste of golden syrup consistently running throughout this pudding. The combination of the banana sponge and the toffee sauce not only has the undeniable banoffee flavour as promised, but also the touch of glamour that Glamour Puds strives to provide in an ordinarily quite bland, gluten-free world.
It’s a wonderful twist on the traditional sponge pudding and when it’s gluten and dairy-free too… it’d be a crime not to grab a spoon and dig in! You can even buy it and another couple of flavours we’ve been itching to try online, right here. Why not add a little extra banana alongside it like I did? I’d be the first say that I deserved it 🙂 4/5
