Been praying for Gluten Free Weetabix? Sadly, the official brand hasn’t announced any plans to grace the free from aisle any time soon. However, Nutribix is a perfect replacement for Coeliacs & Gluten Intolerants and it’s just arrived on UK supermarket shelves!
If you miss Weetabix like me, you’ll likely also be disappointed that it’s still an absolute NO NO for Coeliacs & Gluten Intolerants alike. The closest we’ve gotten so far to Gluten Free Weetabix so far was Weet-Bix that we could get sent all the way from Australia (only for the very dedicated!!). However, if you’ve been dreaming of Gluten Free ‘Weetabix’… Nutribix is the perfect replacement and is now on UK supermarket shelves in a big way!
Both Tesco & Sainsbury’s are first to be stocking Nutribix down the cereal aisle in selected stores, so keep your eyes peeled. It is also going to be stocked in more UK supermarkets in the near future. On first glance I am a massive fan of the packaging too, it is eye catching & inviting! Let’s hope we will see this stocked across the entire country! Let me know when you try it!
Nutribix are the first company in the UK that has developed a Gluten-Free ‘wheat-biscuit’ cereal. Made with wholegrain sorghum which is 100% Wheat Free & Gluten Free. Their factory is completely separate from any producing wheat products which means there is no chance of any cross contamination. Therefore it sounds perfect for Coeliacs & Gluten Intolerants alike!
Oh & if you are wondering what Sorghum is: its an ancient crop that has been growing in Africa for thousands of years, it contains fibre, iron, protein, vitamins and is low in fat.
Being a big fan of the Australian Gluten Free, ‘Weet-Bix’ which is also made from Sorghum I can tell you now that if you were once a big regular Weetabix fan, you will really enjoy this. It is such a nice change from any other gluten free breakfast cereal & is full of goodness. Before my gluten sensitivity, I always found Weetabix to be a great cereal to keep you going all morning; so I am very excited that Nutribix might come close to replicating that feeling. Breakfasts for those on a gluten free diet will never be the same again in the UK!
Perfectly accompanied by plenty of milk, almond or soya for me! & a mix of berries & bananas makes this tastier than any breakfast I usually have during the week, yet it’s so easy & quick to put together! How do you like to eat this style of cereal? I’d love some alternative ways too!
I’ve longed for gluten free ‘Weetabix’ to be available on hotel breakfast gluten free menus, or even gluten free breakfasts on long haul flights. However, if they had Nutribix on the menu instead, I would definitely choose it!
What are your thoughts on Gluten Free ‘Weetabix’? Does Nutribix come close? Have you tried it yet? How easy has it been to get hold of it? Let me know by leaving a comment below or on Facebook/Twitter.
