4-Ingredient strawberry and banana bars recipe – this one’s not only gluten free, but also vegan and dairy free too. And you can make it in just 25 minutes!
4-ingredient strawberry and banana bars recipe, anyone? They’re super simple and quick to make – no gluten free flour required. This recipe is a store-cupboard wonder!
It’s still very hit and miss whether you’ll find gluten-free flour in the supermarkets or not, isn’t it? At the time of writing, I think I’ve only seen one bag down the free from aisle in the last month.
But there’s certainly no need to let a little lack of flour get in the way of creating tons of awesome gluten free treats, is there?
As I’m sure you’ve clocked from the title, you only need 4 simple ingredients to whip up my 4-ingredient strawberry and banana bars recipe. Don’t believe me? Here’s everything you’ll need…
- ripe bananas
- peanut butter
- gluten free oats
- jam
And that’s it! All you have to do is basically just bung it all in a bowl (apart from the jam) and mix.
Then transfer the mixture into your tin, spread jam, add more mixture and you’re done. I love a simple recipe!
But what do they taste like? Well, the word ‘awesome’ is a decent start, but allow me to elaborate!
(puts on my best M&S voice)
These humble little bars are lovely and chewy, packed with banana flavour, with a subtle hint of peanut butter. Then, you’ve got a sweet layer of oozing jam in every bite and a slightly crisped top.
Do you think I should voiceover any future M&S ads? ? Either way, I hope that sums up why you should have made my 4-ingredient strawberry and banana bars recipe yesterday!
Best of all, these bars are naturally gluten free, vegan and dairy free. Best of all, one slice of this is low FODMAP too. There’s 50g of banana per slice and the low FODMAP serving size for ripe bananas is 56g. Winning!
Before we get to the method in one swift scroll, I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone who makes my recipes.
It means a lot that you’d trust my recipes enough to use up your potentially scarce ingredients at the mo.
And it goes without saying that I absolutely love seeing all the photos you guys send me of your bakes. It makes my day, every day… multiple times a day!

4-Ingredient Strawberry and Banana Bars Recipe: Ingredients
- 4 bananas (mine weighed around 460g when peeled)
- 120g peanut butter (I use a creamy peanut butter) – it can be smooth or crunchy.
- 250g gluten free oats
- strawberry jam (any jam flavour you like would work though!)
4-Ingredient Strawberry and Banana Bars Recipe: Method
Preheat your oven to 160C Fan / 180C. Line a 8x8inch square tin (any shaped tin would work though, and a smaller tin would make them a little chunkier which could be nice!)
Mash your bananas in a large bowl, till fairly smooth.
Mix in your peanut butter. If your peanut butter is a little firm make sure you give it a good mix before adding it in, or even briefly pop it in the microwave to help break it down.
Stir in your oats until combined.
Spread half your mixture into your tin, try and get it nice and level.
Spread a layer of jam on top of your mixture – leave a small gap around the edges.
Put the rest of your mixture on top of the jam and spread it out so its level.
Place in the oven for around 15 minutes.
Remove and allow to cool before cutting into bars. Enjoy!
