Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024
Since this is a MEGA guide to Waitrose’s Christmas gluten-free products in 2024 I thought I’d split this post up into sections as you’ll see below.
Using the contents list below, you can jump to particular sections if you’re looking for something specific, or feel free to just scroll down to see everything:
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024: Free From Aisle
My round-up of Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024 starts down their trusty free from aisle. While you won’t find an enormous selection compared to other supermarkets, you will find a few products that you can’t find anywhere else!
Keep an eye out for the 4x millionaire’s brownie tarts, chocolate, sour cherry and ginger tiffin slices, trifle tarts and even their own small gluten-free panettone too.
In terms of dairy-free chocolate, the Booja-Booja products are definitely something to consider heading over to Waitrose for as I haven’t seen them so well stocked anywhere else in supermarkets so far. Otherwise, lots of Waitrose’s own-brand free from products are milk-free so make sure you take a closer look at all of them!
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024: Snacks, Party Food & Christmas Lunch
If you venture outside of the free from aisle, there’s even more festive goodies to be found though you might not notice them at first glance. And that’s what this post is for!
This section will be a real mix of everything from Christmas lunch trimmings (remember to freeze them if you intend to keep them ready for December!), festive crisps/snacks and party food options. And though in last year’s post I hailed Waitrose as ‘the best supermarket this year for gluten-free party food’… I can’t say that again just yet as there isn’t even any party food products in stock yet.
So please remember keep checking back on this post for more product updates to see if Waitrose can retain their crown! Supermarkets will usually only stock party food products closer to Christmas, so expect an update whenever they appear.
Important reminder when shopping outside of the free from aisle: if a product has no ‘may contain’ for sources of gluten and no gluten-containing ingredients, then it’s considered gluten-free here in the UK! Though fortunately for us, lots of these products do have gluten-free labelling.
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024: Seasonal Confectionery Aisle
At the mo, it’s all about the seasonal aisle in Waitrose where you’ll find a ton of products that’re ‘accidentally’ gluten-free, including things like advent calendars, gifts and small sweet treats.
Of course, you’re unlikely to find many dairy-free products down seasonal aisles (though do note the NOMO advent calendar here) – so the free from aisle is your best best for gluten-free and dairy-free chocolate if you need it!
Please bear in mind that I’m highlighting these products below specifically. Absolutely do not assume that just because one product is gluten-free and featured here in this post, that all products by the same brand also be gluten-free too. Quite often, that isn’t the case!
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024: Desserts
Like party food, festive desserts don’t often show up too early. But as we near closer to Christmas, you’ll most definitely see more pop up so keep checking back on this post as it will be continually updated right up until December 25th.
Here’s a selection of quite a few small individually portioned dessert options, all of which might be wise to keep in the fridge in case of a ‘dessert emergency’ over the festive period. All of these were found in the chilled desserts section, apart from the roulade which is frozen.
Just like with other supermarkets, please note the specific meringue-based dessert (roulade) I’ve shown below and remember: don’t assume that all meringue-based desserts are automatically gluten-free – I’ve highlighted the one below specifically! It really does vary from supermarket to supermarket and product to product.
Waitrose’s gluten-free Christmas products 2024: Gluten-free Beer
This section of this post is a new thing as I don’t usually feature beer in these posts especially. But considering that Waitrose’s free from aisle wasn’t particularly huge in my local store, with this many choices of gluten-free beer, I felt like it just needed to be mentioned!
So please enjoy (responsibly) the great range of gluten-free beer on offer and feel free to let me know which is your favourite!
Note that the last product (Freedamm non-alcholic gluten-free beer) was found with all the regular alcohol-free products (by the alcohol), not the free from aisle.
Last Year’s Products
And last but not least, here’s all the products that were in Waitrose LAST YEAR in 2023.
They may be back this year… they may not! So either way, I thought I’d leave the link to last year’s post above just in case they do make a return.
Don’t forget to check out these Christmas supermarket posts too…
