Having previously reviewed Glamour Puds’ Banoffee Sponge Pudding and Passionfruit Chiffon Pie in the past, their Gluten and Dairy Free Raspberry Bakewell Tart seemed too good to resist.
If little puds of sheer gluten and dairy-free bliss are your preference, then Glamour Puds (sadly, now closed for business) will no doubt be your cuppa tea too!
We parted The Allergy Show with an exclusive treat in the shape of a perfectly formed Gluten and Dairy Free Raspberry Bakewell Tart. As they’re currently only available to the trade, we took the rare opportunity to try one without hesitation. Starring among our very own homemade afternoon tea, I can safely say that it was one of our best purchases of the show.
After a short blast in the microwave, the Gluten and Dairy Free Raspberry Bakewell Tart emerged gloriously hot and triumphantly fresh. With an addition of a little soy custard, it quickly graduated from its humble tart beginnings into hot, sticky dessert territory. The pastry’s lovely crisp outer layer conceals a luxuriously soft almond sponge and delightfully sharp raspberry jam hidden away inside.
The saddest part of the whole experience was finishing the last mouthful and remembering that this delicious Gluten and Dairy Free Raspberry Bakewell Tart isn’t currently available for purchase! We can only hope that Glamour Puds one day have mercy on us and add this to the rest of their collection – I’ll be holding my breath until then.
