So you will notice on this blog that we have numerous gluten free chocolate brownie reviews. I hope you are ready for another one! This time it is courtesy of the lovely folk at Honeybuns Bakery. The Heathcliffe Brownie is a gluten free dark chocolate brownie with orange. I’ve never had a chocolate orange brownie before, the only mixing of chocolate and orange for me is done by a certain Terry! However I must say the Heathcliffe Brownie is a right ol’ tasty treat!
I had the Honeybun Mini Heathcliffe Brownie which is a smaller square sized brownie compared to their large full size brownie. I was initially pleased to only have a mini one as I thought it would be somewhat healthier, and whilst it was, I was gutted by the end that I didn’t have the full size Heathcliffe Brownie because it really was delicious!
The brownie was really moist and had a really rich chocolate flavour coming from the Belgium chocolate ingredient. The orange flavour came through, complimenting the chocolate perfectly – it really did taste like Terry’s Chocolate Orange in brownie form! I definitely cannot think of any way that the taste of this product could be any better.
The texture was equally just right, as I said it was really moist and soft. It was really well formed and not in any way crumbly. The large pieces of chocolate within the brownie were a complete bonus! So often I find brownies can lack actual chunks of chocolate within them, but the Heathcliffe definitely doesn’t hold back on that front fortunately!
You may not realise that even though there are loads of chocolate brownie reviews on Gluten Free Cuppa Tea, I am not the biggest brownie fan. I never really ate them when I could eat gluten and since becoming gluten intolerant I have never been partial to a Starbucks, Costa or Caffe Nero brownie. Thus I have certainly only reviewed my very favourite brownies on Gluten Free Cuppa Tea, and this is definitely one of them!
I recommend giving the Heathcliffe Brownie a try, especially if you are a fan of a certain Terry’s Chocolate Orange… and if you are fed up of the standard high street coffee shop brownies that are paraded before our gluten intolerant eyes on an incredibly regular basis.
Grab one over on the Honeybuns Bakery Website… the mini size might be advisable if you don’t want to overindulge, but, I would say on this occasion you’ve got to go all out and get the standard size. Like me, you will regret only having the mini Heathcliffe Brownie and crave more! The Heatcliffe Brownie is definitely something special to me.
